Robert Paul “Bob” “Biggie” Bigelow – 62, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Earle and Elizabeth “Betty” (Johnson) Bigelow, Kentville. Bob had been employed for 14 years with the railroad. He also worked for 10 years with Maple Leaf and 10 years with Eden Valley. He loved spending time with his grand kids. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, broomball, ball hockey, softball, concerts and was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sherry (Cross); daughter, Elizabeth “Bethie” (Jason) Slade, Hervey Bay, Australia; son, Ryan Bigelow (Deanna Irvin), Dartmouth; their mother, Michele Ritchie, Coldbrook; heart daughter, Stephanie Stirling, Centreville; step-son, Shawn Wagner, Centreville; brothers, Earl (Cindy), Stewiacke; Ian (Kim), Kentville; Bernie (Bev) and Andrew (Christine), both of New Minas; granddaughter, Shannon Bigelow; heart grandchildren, Ian MacLean, Mark MacLean and Austyn Dykens. He was predeceased by step-son, Mathew Wagner. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the Stirling Apple Orchard, on the corner of Baines Road and Eaton Branch Road, Centreville. Friends and family are invited to bring along chairs and blankets. A reception will follow at Bob’s House, 1028 Anthony Avenue, Centreville. A private family burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County. In lieu of donations, please consider donating blood.
