Jesse Ryan MacAulay

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jesse Ryan MacAulay at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on April 11, 2018. He was the son of Wendy Hoban and the late Brent MacAulay, and the only father he ever knew, Rod McInnis.
Jesse was born in Calgary, AB and came to live in Cape Breton when he was three. He attended Riverview High School and graduated in 1999. Jesse was a bartender for many years at the Savoy Theatre and Dobson Yacht Club. He graduated from NSCC with his Auto Body technician trade. He then worked at Steve Lewis Auto-Body for two years. He later attended MacKenzie College for his Class 1 driver’s license and became an employee for Sysco as a driver and deliverer. Jesse was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping, hikes, long drives and perfecting his lawn grass. He also enjoyed playing basketball, hockey, baseball and video games. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his life partner, Julie Musgrave; children, Kali Musgrave (Ryan); best bud, Noah MacAulay; his grandson, Mason Musgrave; mother-in-law, Mary Theresa Musgrave; grandmother, Betty Hoban; mother, Wendy Hoban (Rod McInnis); uncles, Randy (Barb), Steven (Cathy) and Anthony (Wendy); aunts, Rosalee; children, Alisha and Brandy, Cheryl (Cory), Cheryl (Chris), Glenda (Debbie) MacAulay, as well as many cousins whom he loved, and his beloved cat, Baby.
Jesse will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is predeceased by his birth father, Brent MacAulay; maternal grandfather, Alex Hoban; maternal grandmother, Phillis Hoban, and paternal grandparents.
We have been blessed to have Jesse in our lives and he will forever live in our hearts.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, April 22 in S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral will take place 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.
