The death of Winston Richard Roach, age 64, occurred peacefully on August 23, 2009, at the Palliative Care Unit with his sister at his side. Winston fought a courageous few months battle with cancer with the determination to remain in his home as long as possible.
He was the son of the late Gerald and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Roach and brother of Geraldine McKenna of Charlottetown. Predeceased by his brothers, Arthur Roach, Earl Roach; and brother-in-law, Earl McKenna; as well as sister-in-law, Rose Roach. He is survived by nephews, Shawn (Eva) McKenna, Alan McKenna and Robbie Roach; and nieces, Mary-Beth Roach-Griffin (Stanley), Peggy Roach Rivard (Greg), Shannon McKenna, Jennifer Potter (Ashley) and Roberta McKenna.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Wednesday, August 26, 7-9 p.m. (only).
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 27, at St. Michael\'s Church, Iona, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
