We, the family of the late Alex Finlayson wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our families, friends and neighbours for the many acts of kindness and care you have shown us during our recent loss. To all who sent food, cards, flowers, made phone calls, online condolences, memorial donations, monetary donations, visited our homes, travelled from away, and especially for your hugs and prayers, thank you.
Thank you to all who attended the funeral home and the church service. Special thanks to Rev. Brian Barron, Kathy Audoux and the choir, Erin for her reading, Leah for her fitting eulogy, Tom Vickers and members of Branch 83 Florence Legion for their march-past and funeral presentation, Andrew Doyle for his beautiful solo, and to the pallbearers (grandchildren) Jennifer, Amy, Jeff and Devon, and (stepsons) George and Garfield, all of whom helped to make the service both special and memorable. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to Gloria Winship for arranging the lunch and reception following the service, and for all the ladies and gentleman of our Clyde Avenue Baptist church family who provided and served lunch and cleaned up after. Your acts of kindness will not be forgotten. The family also wishes to thank Manning Jobes and the staff (especially Ian Robertson) at Jobes Funeral Home for your professionalism and support.
