Passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Health Science Complex on Sunday April 29, 2018. Predeceased by her husband, Fred (2003); son, Johnny (1988) and her parents, Michael and Helen Fitzgerald; brother, Robert; sister-in-law and friend Shirley Meaney and brother-in-law, Tommy Woodfine. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves with fond and loving memories her sons, Fred, Terry (Veronica Heffernan), Jimmy and Paddy (Ashley Noseworthy); daughters, Shirley (Sean Dyer), Mary (Vince Power), Amanda Dwyer (Jamie Crocker), Josephine (Graham Care) and Kay (Willie King); son-in-law, Jim Dwyer; grandchildren, Nicole, Vanessa, Frederick, Mary, Johnny, Stephanie, Jasmine, Hope, Hayley, Will, Peyton, Carrie, Jaylynn, Katelyn, Joey and Cole; great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Charlie, Chloe, Avery, Hayden, Domenik, Douglas, Sophie and Thea; sister, Kathleen (Jim) Clarke; brother, Mike (Brenda) Fitzgerald and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s on Wednesday and Thursday, May 2nd and 3rd , 2018 from 10am – 9pm pm. Funeral service will be held from Holy Trinity Church on Friday May 4 at 10am with cremation and the interment to follow at a later date. Flowers are gratefully accepted.
