Beulah (MacInnes) Moricky age 89, of the Mira, Truro formerly of Stellarton, NS, passed away on April 30, 2018.
She was the youngest daughter of Alex and Annie MacInnes. Besides her parents, Beulah was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, her sister Allene, and brothers-in-law Arthur, Ronald and James.
Beulah was born in Glencoe, NS on May 28, 1928. She graduated from Stellarton High School, then began her nurses training at the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in Montreal, graduating in 1950. She received her Diploma in Public Health from Dalhousie University in 1958, Bachelor of Nursing from McGill University in 1964, and Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Western Ontario in 1975. Beulah enjoyed her nursing career and the wonderful people she met while working at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, Red Cross Outpost Hospital in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan as well as public health units throughout Saskatchewan and Chatham, Ontario where she held the position of Supervisor of Kent-Chatham Health Unit.
From there, she and Frank moved to Victoria, British Columbia where she served as Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing until her retirement.
Beulah is survived by her sisters Christene and Elizabeth, her nieces Anne (David), their son Andrew; Arla (Fred), their son Michael (Jennifer); Bette (Ross) and their son, Mark; as well as a special cousin, Eoin and several nieces and nephews in the Czech Republic.
In keeping with Beulah’s wishes cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later date with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton.
