Edmund Genge

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, on May 4, 2018, while surrounded by his loving family - as he had lived, Edmund "Ed" Genge of St. Joseph's, St. Mary's Bay, aged 72 years. Predeceased by his father Jacob, mother Stella, brother Steward and step-father Pearce. Leaving to celebrate his life, his devoted wife and partner of 48 years, Anita (nee Stamp), sons Mark (Deanne) and Glenn, daughters Noreen (Trevor) and Natasha; beloved grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua, Matthew, Damon, Leah, Carson, Abby and Kalea; much loved siblings: Arthur (Laverne) Genge, Pius (Linda) Allingham and Marina (Gilbert) Lovell; very special cousins: Palma, Beatrice, Israel, Sadie and Pearl, his dearly loved aunt Mary and her family, sisters-in-law Marion White and Phyllis Churchill and brother-in-law Gordon Stamp. Also left with wonderful memories of Ed are a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was a man beyond measure whose smile could light up a room. His well of patience ran very deep and his love for his family always came first. Ed was a skilled mason who believed in hard work and in making the best of what "you had on hand" - There was nothing he couldn’t do. His former colleagues remember him with a smile and a chuckle...knowing somewhere along the line he had taught them an invaluable life or work lesson. The loss in Ed’s passing will be felt by many. We don’t know what life will be like without you, but we will remain thankful for what you taught us. Fly high with angels, we know you like heights! Visitation will be held at the Enright Memorial Chapel, St. Joseph's (Church), on Monday, May 7, from 7 - 9pm and Tuesday, May 8, 2 - 4pm; 7 - 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at 10am, at St. Joseph's Church. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, O'Donnells. A Silent Tear
Just close your eyes and you will see,
All the memories that you have of me.
Just sit and relax and you will find,
I'm really still there inside your mind.
Don't cry for me now I'm gone,
For I am in the land of song.
There is no pain, there is no fear
So dry away that silent tear.
Don't think of me in the dark and cold,
For here I am, no longer old.
I'm in that place that's filled with love,
Known to you all, as "up above".
