Ronald Arthur Sutherland, 76, of Sydney died, May 10, 2018 at the CBRH.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Dr. Arthur and Mary Sutherland.
Ronald attended St. FX and graduated from UCCB with a BBA. He spent the majority of his life in Process Operations, initially with Imperial Oil (Dartmouth), then Union Carbide (Montreal), before settling on a career with Atomic Energy of Canada. With the closure of the Heavy Water Plants in Cape Breton, he moved West to start again in Lloydminster, AB with Husky Oil.
A loving husband and father, Ron is survived by his wife, Marilyn and sons, Stephen (Elizabeth), Andrew (Angela); sisters, Claire, Betty and four grandchildren.
Ron loved family, Cape Breton and thoroughly enjoyed retirement.
He was a committed golfer and a member of Seaview Golf Club. He also enjoyed his Thursday evening games of Tarabish in East Bay.
The body with rest at TW Curry Parkview Chapel with visitation on Monday, May 14, from 1-4 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
