Our dear mom, nan, great nan and great great nan, Gladys May (Steeves) (Winters) Hicks age 90 of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018 while surrounded by loved ones at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Gladys was born July 20, 1927 in Taylor Village, NB and was a daughter of the late Rachel Steeves.
Gladys loved country music. Her absolute favourite artist was Elvis Presley who she truly adored.
She will be remembered for her delicious baking and her passion for dancing in her younger years.
Family was the most important aspect of her life, always keeping in touch with everyone and will be truly missed by all that she touched throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Sherman) Black, Rachel (Walter) Arsenault, Ronnie Winters, Christina (David) Dutkewich, Margaret Winters, and Carol Winters; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; as well as extended family.
Gladys was predeceased by her son, Ottis Winters; daughter, Lucelle Winters; and first husband, Roy Winters.
As per Gladys wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS (902) 667-9906 and there will be no services.
In lieu of floral tributes memorial contributions in Gladys memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
