It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Phyllis Norma Osmond (nee Seymour) announces her passing at the Western Regional Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Sunday, May 13th, 2018 at the age of 79 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Michael and Blanche Seymour (nee Musseau). She was also predeceased by her daughter Geraldine; common-law husband Llewellyn Gallant; brother-in-law Russell Sampson; brothers Percy, Raymond, Michael, Gary Seymour; sisters Jane Hodgson, Vera (Carl) Penny, Violet, Dorthy Seymour; granddaughter Tara Osmond; great-granddaughter Mackenzie Darden; sister-in-law Lillian Seymour; and son-in-law Dennis Bailey. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Mike (Eileen) Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, Leonard (Yvonne) Osmond of Rencontre East, NL, Ken (Peggy) Osmond of Guelph, Ont, Stan (Darlene) Osmond of Massey Drive, NL; daughters Wanda (Junior) Kettle of Port aux Basques, NL, Audrey (Ross) Seaward of Holyrood, NL, Carol Bailey (Calvin Joudrey) of Windsor, NS; step-children Glenda (Peter) Krabben and families of Kelowna, BC, Melvin (Tracey) Galant and families of Saint John, NB, Roxanne (Brian) Cornect and families of Stephenville, NL; brothers Charlie (Irene) Seymour, Bert (Colleen) Seymour both of North Sydney, NS, Leonard Seymour of Port aux Basques, NL, Don (Geneva) Seymour, Gordon (Sherry) Seymour both of Chester, NS, Llewelyn (Debbie) Seymour of Clare, NS, Dave (Jeanie) Seymour of Bridgewater, NS; half-brother Rick (Monique) Reid of Dartmouth, NS; sisters Margaret (Johnny) Hodgson, Eileen Sampson both of Sydney, NS, Pearl (Bobby) Barron of Ingonish, NS; brother-in-law Earl Hodgson of Marion Bridge, NS; sister-in-law Marilyn Seymour of Gold River, NS; ten (10) grandchildren Michael, Jamie, Amber, Josh, Bradley, Alisa, Anthony, Katelyn, Alexandra, Shane; ten (10) great-grandchildren Hunter, Ashton, Jax, Kade, Harlie, Kennedy, Kaylin, Hailee, Nicole, and Lexie. A special thank you to the nurses of 3B Medicine at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and Dr. Mark Smallwood for their compassion and professionalism. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, cremation will follow. The memorial service was held on Friday, May 18th at 11 am from East Haven Funeral Home Inc. officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey with interment followed at the Old St. James Anglican Cemetery, High Street, Port aux Basques, NL. No flowers by request, in lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis' memory can be made to the Diabetes Association, 29-31 Pippy Place, Suite 2007, St. John’s, NL A1B 3X2.
