STANLEY SKULMOSKI
1940 - 2018
Stanley Joseph Skulmoski passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the age of 78 years after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Stan was born on the family farm near Fairlight, SK on February 19, 1940, one of four sons born to Anne & Joseph Skulmoski. Stan spent his entire life working for the Department of Highways. In the early days he built fences and did surveying, later on becoming an engineer. He had many good friends from all of his years working for the Department of Highways and enjoyed his job immensely. Stan and his wife Lynn spent many years hunting and fishing and were most happy spending time at the family cabin at Candle Lake, and later at their seasonal trailer, also at Candle Lake. Stan also greatly enjoyed his coffee row friends and family. He certainly was a wonderful father and friend to anyone who knew him, and he will be sadly missed. Stan was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Lynn, in October of 2013; his brothers, Marvin and Ervin; his brothers-in-law, Steve, Walter and Bruno Korol; and his sister-in-law, Marion. He is survived by his loving family: his step-son, Bruce (Bev) Kit, and grandson, Jeremy, of Red Deer, AB; his sons, Terry (Colleen), and granddaughter, Nicole, and Trent (Laura), both of Prince Albert, SK; his special friend, Carla Ramage of Prince Albert, SK; his brother, Bev (Ethel); his brothers-in-law, Stanley (Liz) Korol of Smeaton, SK, and Joe (Doreen) Korol of Westbank, BC; and his sister-in-law, Olga Korol of Prince Albert, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at River Park Funeral Home, Reverend Father DJ Vu officiating. Interment to follow in the Garden of the Last Supper, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 0Z9.
