With heavy hearts and precious memories we announce the passing of a loving wife and mother, Maisie Frances Smith, on June 2, 2018 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Maisie was born in Pool's Cove on June 5, 1948 to William and Lovetta (Baker)Perham. Predeceased by her parents, William and Lovetta; parents-in-law William and Audrey Smith; sister, Greta Price and brother-in-law, Norman Cumben. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of 48 years, David; daughter, Trudy (Cameron) Locke and sons, Jason (Salome) and Deon (Amanda); grandchildren, Miles, Heidi, Sebastian, Seth, Sage, Kyle and Nathan; sisters, Betty (Calvin) Pike, Goldie (William) Brushett, Alma (Phillip) Poole, Ada (Bruce) Savoury, Marjorie (Barry) Clarke, Ellen (Eric) Hynes and Michelle Perham; brothers, Herbert (Judi) and Kevin (Maureen); sister-in-law, Ann Cumben; brother-in-law Ambrose Price, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Maisie spent the last months of her life at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, always in the company of her devoted husband and family. She was cared for by a wonderful team of nurses and doctors that became like family to her. Cremation has taken place at Maisie's request. Memorial Service took place at MacDermott United Church, Pool's Cove, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Georgina Parsons officiating. Donations in Maisie's memory can be made to MacDermott United Church, Pool's Cove or to WMRH Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
