James Daniel Kennedy
Born In: Louisbourg, Nova Scotia
Passed in: Sydney, Nova Scotia
Passed on: June 6th, 2018
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of James Daniel Kennedy, 69, on June 6, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Louisbourg, he was the son of Shirley (Fleet) Kennedy and the late James Kennedy Sr. Jimmy grew up in "Old Town" Louisbourg and was employed by National Sea Products until its closure in the early nineties. More recently, he was employed by the Cape Breton Post. Jimmy was also a loyal blood donor.
Jimmy enjoyed many sports and fishing with friends. He was a longtime fan of the Montreal Canadiens and took pride in maintaining a backyard rink for many years for his three sons and their friends to enjoy.
To say that he enjoyed talking to others is an understatement. Jimmy took every opportunity he could to strike up a conversation with friends and strangers alike. Jimmy will always be remembered for his joyful smile, his sense of humour, and his generosity.
Jimmy is survived by his mother, Shirley, and his three sons, Stephen, Christopher, and Andrew. Besides his father, James, Jimmy was predeceased by two brothers, George and Brian.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery.
