Willenia Reid

Reid, Willenia Ann “Lena”, 76, formerly of Stellarton, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late William Sr. and Sarah (MacPherson) Reid. She grew up in Lower Plymouth and later lived for many years at the Twin Rivers Trailer Park in Stellarton. She was a resident of High Crest Place, New Glasgow for the past 6 years where she made many friends with both residents and staff who adored her.
Lena was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church where her faith was very important and comforting to her. Aunt Lena loved and enjoyed many things in life especially bingos, word puzzles and many a dog named Jenny. Of course her biggest joy was being the number one fan to Elvis who will forever remind us all of our Lena. Above all, Lena loved and was proud of her entire family, carrying pictures of everyone including nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews everywhere. She was the perfect Aunt, sister, daughter and sister in law. Her simple and sincere way of loving us will be remembered forever.
Lena is now at peace reunited with her loving, protecting parents. Lena is survived by her brother Bill Jr. (Jean) Reid, New Glasgow; sister Margaret Worthen (New Glasgow) and sister Dorothy (Mark) Wilson, Trenton; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Florence Arnold, formerly of Stellarton; several aunts and uncles.
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton, with visitation from 3-7pm Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Friday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Barrett-Clare Johnson presiding.
Burial to take place in the parish cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Lena may be made to the Capital Projects Fund of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
