Katherine Thelma McCurdy, 94, of Sydney, died November 29, 2017, peacefully at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Clayton Park, surrounded by three of her close cousins, Marylee, BarbaraJo and Ainsley.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Charles and Mary (MacKeagen) MacDonald.
Thelma was a graduate of Mount Alison University and worked at the Sydney Steel Plant until her marriage in 1970. She was a devout member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Sydney, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Lucky Seven Investment Club and enjoyed playing bridge. Everyone that knew Thelma appreciated her kindness and sense of humour.
She was predeceased by husband, Harry.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, 49 Welton St., Sydney on Wednesday, June 27 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Alison Etter officiating.
A reception will follow. Interment will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery mid-afternoon.
