Strong, Laurie Addison, age 82, of Scotch Village, Hants Co., passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on October 8, 1935 in Windsor, Laurie was the son of the late Moston Keddy Strong and Ida May (Leopold) Strong. He was a farmer and laborer all his working life. After his father died, Laurie continued to operate the family farm. Laurie is survived by his brothers, Mostyn, Scotch Village; Burton (Sylvia), Greenwood; Leigh (Evelyn), Scotch Village; Christopher (Jeannine), Scotch Village; Wray (Judy Bonnell), Martin’s River; sister, Marlene (Tony) MacDougall, Orleans, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sisters, Twila Fairn; Martha in infancy; sister-in-law, Mabel Strong; brother-in-law, Donald Fairn; nephew, Peter Strong; great nieces, Megan and Kayla Ehler in infancy. Visitation was held 7-9 pm Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in the Newport Baptist Church, Scotch Village. Rev. Garnet Parker and Pastor Rick Manuel officiated. Interment was in the Scotch Village Century Cemetery. Donations in Laurie’s memory were requested to be made to the charity of one’s choice.
