David Duncan Richardson

David Duncan Richardson, 82 of Amherst, passed away in the loving arms of his wife and soul mate Pearl while surrounded by loving family on Tuesday June 26, 2018. Dave was the youngest son of William and Margaret (Bain) Richardson who immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1929. He grew up in Upper Dorchester, N.B., and spent most of his adult years in Middle Sackville N.B. and Amherst, N.S. Dave worked with his father on the railway for a time and did a variety of jobs including Oshawa Dairy in Ontario and Enamel Heating in Sackville N.B. He spent 35 years working at General Electric and Maloney Electric in Sackville N.B. Dave is dearly missed by his wife Pearl (DeCoste), children Frances (Mike) Weldon , Sackville N.B., Greg (Lori), Cathy (Russ) Lattin, Tim (Ann-Marie), Kevin (Lynn), Rob (Danna) and step daughter Judi (Mike) Nyeste, all of Calgary, stepsons Mike (Marion) Porter and Ross Estabrooks, stepdaughter Jackie (Terry) White, stepsons Donnie Hubley and Richard Hubley (Carrie Lowther) and former wife Margaret Richardson. He is also missed by his faithful sidekick, Maggie. Dave was Grampy and Puppy to grandchildren, Owen, Tori, Will, Heather, Sarah, Nathan, Kelley, Devon, Samantha, Cole, Sidnee, Jory, Becca, Josh, Ethan, Abbey, Mitchell, Marshall, Emma, Duncan, and Cameron; eight great grandchildren many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and a large circle of friends. To know Dave was to love him! Dave was predeceased by his parents, twin sister Cathy, siblings George, Sarah, Jessie, Andrew, William, Bob and Eddie. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and coaching his boys in hockey, playing horseshoes at the beach and spending time at the cottage; he was a devoted family man with a hearty laugh and a wicked sense of humour. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. held in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with Father Craig Christenson officiating. In lieu, donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation.
