Passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on June 30, 2018, Joseph Redmond Bennett, aged 81. Predeceased by his sister Gloria Vincent. Leaving with fond memories his sister Mary and brother-in-law Greg White; brothers Paul Benoit and Dave Bennett; cousin Dorothy Marche; nieces and nephews: Sandra and Keith Rogers, Janice and Ron Taaffe, Brian White and Eric White; good buddy Greg White Jr.; great-nieces Julia and Samantha Taaffe; and many other relatives and friends. Retired from 50 years of service beginning with the American Air Forces Bases at Stephenville and Goose Bay and finishing with 30 years of serving the public at Sobeys. Uncle Joe was a gentle soul who embraced the simple things in life. He enjoyed his long walks to Signal Hill each day meeting and chatting with new people. Joe also loved old classic cars and dogs, especially ol' friend Mocha and new puppy Ginger. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa's Church, Mundy Pond Road on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
