Mary Margaret Bartlett
Mary Margaret Bartlett (nee Slade) died peacefully in Northside General Hospital on July 3, 2018, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia at the age of 79.
Mary was born on January 25, 1939, in Burlington Ontario to Reg and Mary Slade. Mary started working at age 12 and had a long career in Ontario where she worked alongside her husband John for 25 years. Even after retirement, Mary refused to ever slow down.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed fresh air and exercise. She will be remembered by her family for her selfless and giving soul. Mary moved to Glace Bay in 2008 and enjoyed her time on Cape Breton Island. Mary is survived by husband John; children, Leslie and Jim; daughter-in-law, Michelle; grandchildren, Michael, Devn, Kirsten, Victoria, Costa, John and Christopher; brother, Bob; niece, Jennifer; and sister and brother-in-law, Rev. Myrna and Robert MacMullin. She is preceded in death by her daughter Joanne.
A funeral service is scheduled for July 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church with Rev. Ruby Carter officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life.
