Donald Arthur Harris

On Thursday, July 5th, Donald Arthur Harris age 73, formerly of Murray Harbour, died peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre, in Calgary, Alberta. With family by his side and songs being sung to soothe his passing, Donnie, a devoted husband of 50 years to Betty Joy (nee Nicolle) Harris, passed from this life to the next to be greeted at the gates by Father and Mother, the late Louis Beck and Phyllis Eulalia (Chapman) Harris. Donnie leaves in Christ’s care, his loving children, Shana Dee Campbell (Edward) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Tara Daniele Sullivan (Mark) of Seabright, Nova Scotia, Colton Tupper Harris (Laura) of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Janel Nicolle Harris ( Barry Campbell) of Calgary, Alberta, and Ayden Arnett Louis Harris of Calgary Alberta; precious grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Campbell, Kai, Sadaa and Jada Sullivan, Tamara, Livia and Jazlin Harris, and Braelan Nicole Harris; cherished siblings, Wayne Harris (Jill) of Murray Harbour, Elayne VanIderstine (William) of Montague, Geraldine Herring (Robert) of Murray Harbour, Clint Harris (Betty) of Murray Harbour and Cynthia Bell (John) of Guernsey Cove; and dear nieces and nephews, Dana and Kiri Harris, Cory, Jody, Kirby and Ryan VanIderstine, Robbie, Wendy, Susan, Peter and Jamie Herring, Angela, Marley, Kirk and Denise Harris, Kendra, Zachary and Thatcher Bell. Don was an avid golfer, who loved his morning crossword, visits to the nearest Tim’s to socialize and singing. His booming, bass voice will not be forgotten by those who loved him, including The Master’s Singers - his Calgary choir cohorts. A man of words, who loved a good phrase, or quote, Don let his family know, "Even in the Valley, God is good." The way he loved life and people is a testament of his faith and daily walk with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was never afraid to share his faith, but always sensitive to the hearts of others. His final message, as written to his (wife) Dear Bet, "I need not say more than, love. I loved my family that I am leaving, and love the family that I am going to – May Christ carry us all home. See you in Heaven." Resting at Ferguson Logan Funeral Home, visitation is Sunday July 15, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. and funeral Monday, July 16 at 1 p.m. from the Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers; pray for the hurting, be kind to those in need, laugh until it hurts, sing boldly, and hug the ones you love. Funeral Service will be Live Streamed for those who can't make it. There will be a black camera on the left hand side of the obituary on Monday. If you open that at 12:45 p.m. it will open live to the chapel.
