Passed peacefully away in the presence of his wonderful caregivers on July 23, 2018, Peter James (Jim) Canning, at the age of 88. Formerly of Freshwater Cove, Ferryland, he was the last surviving sibling of his family. Predeceased by his parents Matthew and Genevieve Canning (nee Johnson); his brother Michael and wife Bride; his sisters and their spouses Madeline Cassidy (Thomas), Dorothy Fecteau (Emile), Jean Izzo (Anthony), Stella Hartery (Edward), Marcella O’Neill (Thomas); nephew Lindsay Hartery. Left with fond and loving memories, his many nieces and nephews and their families; his caregivers at Fahey’s Personal Care Home; Jean and Gerald Fahey, Sharon Walsh, Anna Pittman, Catherine Hagan, Jennifer Power, Cynthia Rogers, Bernice Elson, and the residents of the home. Resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse on Wednesday, July 25th from 2-9 pm and on Thursday, July 26th from 9-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 11 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ferryland. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
