Passed away suddenly at sea on July 27, 2018, Wayne Russell affectionately known as Moosie, of Port de Grave, NL, age 57 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, soulmate and best friend Sandra (nee Ralph) of 37 years, his three daughters, Jennifer Russell, Stephanie (Chris) Lights, Port de Grave and Allison Russell of Grand Prairie. His best buddy grandson Logan, and his pride and joy granddaughter Brielle and grandson Jared Lights. Left with fond and loving memories three brothers Shawn (Claudine) Russell, Mount Pearl, Todd Russell, Edmonton, Trevor (Joanne) Russell, Goulds, “special sister” Carolyn (Jason) Petten, Coley’s Point, nieces and nephews, Freddy (Malinda) Loveless, Andrea, Matthew, Jonathan Russell, Joel and Kyle Petten, great-niece and nephew Bridget and William; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill (Linda) Ralph, Carol Thistle, Joyce (Don) Morgan, Nancy Pike (Scott Perry), also, a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Wayne was a well-respected Fisherman who dedicated his life to the fishery. He was the proud owner of the Arctic Pride, Northern Enterprise, Logan R and the JBL Enterprise. He was a member of Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, FFAW Inshore Council, Chairman of the Bay Roberts Harbour Authority, Past President of East Coast Otter Trawl Association. Resting at Moores Funeral Home, Bay Roberts, Sunday 2 to 9 pm, Monday 10 to 9 pm, Tuesday 10 to 12 noon, funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at Grace United Church, Coley’s Point at 2 pm. Interment at the Port de Grave United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the Port de Grave United Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 65, Port de Grave, NL, A0A 3J0.
