The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, August 3, 2018, of Velma MacKinnon, of Summerside, aged 71 years. Born in Sackville, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Milton and Edevida (Gillcash) Estabrooks and step-daughter of the late Sterling Boulter. Survived by her husband Leland MacKinnon; children Shelley (Mark) Banman and Paul (Holly) MacKinnon; granddaughter Bethany (Matthew) Stiller; sister Faye (Reg) MacKay; brothers Milton (Nancy) Estabrooks and Rudy (Debbie) Estabrooks; brother-in-law Ewen (Florence) MacKinnon; and by a sister-in-law Joyce MacKinnon. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Audrey (Aldrus) Cameron; and by brothers-in-law Burleigh (Della) MacKinnon and Jim MacKinnon. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to the Salvation Army Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside.
