Walter Emmanuel Hagen

Walter Emmanuel Hagen, 86 of Sydney, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Patrick and Florence (Bradbury) Hagen.
Walter was an active member of St. Theresa’s Parish. Walter was happiest when surrounded by his family who were always entertained by his witty humour.
Walter was predeceased by his son, Walt, and six siblings.
Walter is survived by his wife, Ada (O’Flaherty); daughter, Donna (Terrance) Gillis, Sydney; son, Michael (Donna), Sydney; daughter-in-law, Pam Hagen; grandchildren, Melanie, Ashlie, Rebecca, Alicia and Michael; great-grandson, Jensen. Walter is also survived by six siblings.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 6 - 9 p.m., in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will take place Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Church with Rev. Dennis Lamey officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Theresa’s Food Bank or the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of the An Cala Unit for everything they have done, and the compassion given to our family.
