Marie passed away in Florida on July 25th, 2018 after a long hospitalization. She is survived by Peter Woegens, her devoted husband of 54 years. Marie was the mother of Renee (T.J.) and nana to Michael, Zachary and Tara. She is survived by her siblings Alyce Shaw, Gerald Whelan (AnneMarie), John Whelan (Cynthia), Catherine Murphy (Dennis), Anne O’Brien, David Whelan, plus several nieces and nephews who loved her. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Eleanor Whelan, brothers Richard, Patrick, William, James, infant sister Eleanor, sister-in-law Eleanor Whelan (2017), and brother-in-law James O’Brien (2018). Her cremated remains were interred at the Veterans Administration Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. To know Marie was to love her. May she rest in peace.
