With sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Julius John Sandy Murphy on Wednesday August 22, 2018 in his 46th year. “Johnny,” beloved son of John and Tabea, beloved brother of Frances, Reuben and Paul and beloved father of Mariah. He died peacefully at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital following a health condition with Frances, Paul and his natural siblings Yvonne Clara and Stanley by his side. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassion of Dr. Hickey and Nurse Danielle and Constable Cahall who responded during his time of need. Johnny was known for his love of his sister Sharon, his “best friend” Edua Noah--who both predeceased him--and his panik Mariah who he loved very deeply. A memorial service was held at the Moravian Church in Johnny's home community of Nain, Labrador on August 30, 2018. His ashes were spread by his sister Frances at Antoine's Point, the home of Edua about 30 miles south of Nain, where his life will be celebrated. Johnny's memory will be cherished by all those who loved him for his pleasant and creative demeanor with a true Inuit spirit that shined throughout him.
