MERRITHEW, MARK WAYNE - Mark Wayne Merrithew, Saint John, NB, (formerly of East Newbridge, NB), passed away suddenly March 24, 2011. Born in Woodstock, NB, January 21, 1952, he was the eldest son of Phillip and Elizabeth Merrithew of Newburg, NB. He attended school in Pembroke, and graduated in 1969 from Southern Carleton Regional High School. Mr. Merrithew entered the Management Training Program with Kmart, Fredericton, NB which took him to Ottawa, Toronto, and St. Catherines, Ontario in management positions for many years. He returned to New Brunswick and became an agent for Prudential Life Insurance for several years. At the time of his death he was working with Lorneville Mechanical at Point Lepreau, NB. Mr. Merrithew is survived by his parents, Phillip and Elizabeth Merrithew of Newburg, NB; a daughter: Amanda Sparrow (Chris) of Deerville, NB; a son: Jonathan Merrithew (Aimee) of Calgary, AB; former wife Cristina; three grandchildren: Ryan and Isaac Sparrow; and Kylie Merrithew; three sisters: Sheila Grimmer (Hill) of Saint John, NB; Lynn Merrithew of Calgary, AB; Mary-Lee White of Newburg and St. Andrews, NB; one brother: Phillips A Merrithew (Lorrie Landry) of Saint John, NB; his aunt: Marion Phillips of Woodstock, NB; two uncles: Robert Nelson (Eileen) of Nestleton, ON, Larry Nelson (Mary) of Florenceville, NB; eight nieces and nephews; eleven grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at the Pembroke Baptist Church in Pembroke, NB on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Carl O’Donnell officiating. Interment will be in the Pembroke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pembroke Baptist Church or charity of the donor’s choice.
