OWENS
Larry Allan
Feb 15, 1961 – Sept. 15, 2018
Larry was born and raised in Deer Lake, Newfoundland to Winnie and John Owens on February 15th, 1961. On July 6th, 1985, he married Paula, the love of his life and they built their life together in Deer Lake. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and had operated his own business in Deer Lake for the last 30 years. In 1991, he was thrilled to welcome their first and only child into the world. When he wasn’t working, most of his time was spent attending the various sporting events that Andrew was involved in. In 2006 he was diagnosed with his first bout of cancer. Since that time, he had several battles but continued to come out on top. On Saturday September 15th, 2018, in what was thought to be a routine visit to Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Larry’s fight came to an end. Larry leaves to mourn with precious memories his devoted wife of 33 years, Paula; his son and best buddy, Andrew, and his wife Laura whose expected child he longed to see and hold; special niece, Elaina Caines, who he thought of as a daughter, and great-nephews Isaiah and Noah Caines. He is survived by his grandmother-in-law, Elizabeth Caines; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Christine Caines; brothers and sisters; brothers and sisters-in-law; aunts and uncles; as well as many other nieces, and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and employees. Larry is predeceased by his parents, John and Winnie; brother, Bruce and sister, Olive.
