Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, Frank Slade, age 69 years. Predeceased by his son Trent Slade; parents: Donald and Elsie Slade; brother Lloyd Slade; father-in-law Nat Slade. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 49 years Ruby; daughter Glenys Sundaresan (Sudhir); son Shawn Slade; daughter-in-law Heidi Slade; six grandchildren: Jay, Alexander, Meera, and Daniel Sundaresan, Julie and Olivia Slade; brothers: Gordon (Agnes), Baxter (Jean), and Berkley (Viola); sister Pat Noftle (Paul); mother-in-law: Effie Slade; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Max Slade (Vera), Wayne Slade (Lyn), Ira Slade (Linda), Sandra Warren and Dawna Slade (Wally); also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Rev. David Burrows words cannot express how the family feels about your friendship and commitment to Frank and his family during Frank’s struggle. You are a true friend and your dedication will be long remembered by all of us. Frank slipped away knowing that truth. At Frank’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and then from 2 p.m-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral service to be held from The Church of the Ascension, Smallwood Drive, Mount Pearl on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
