It is with great sadness we mark the passing of Janice Marie Cox, age 51, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and a friend to many. Janice passed away suddenly Saturday September 22, 2018 in Halifax.
Born in North Sydney on February 8, 1967, Janice was the daughter of John Cox and the late Dora (Mauger) Cox.
She leaves behind a legacy of loving relationships with her family, especially her niece, Olivia and nephews, Samuel, Isaac and Nathaniel.
Janice loved her dogs who always had a special place in her heart. She trained and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and in recent years found enjoyment in visiting Cape Breton. Indeed, she was making plans to retire to her hometown of North Sydney, to be closer to her father, John, family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Besides her father, John Cox, North Sydney, Janice is also survived by her siblings, Joe (Steven) Cox, Montreal, Wanda (Kenneth) Maxwell, North Sydney and Shauna (Rodney) Kelland, Bedford
She was predeceased by her mother, Dora Cox in 2007.
Visitation for Janice will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the SPCA.
