Mrs. Doris Adeline Fitzpatrick, late of Prince Albert and formerly of Christopher Lake, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 90. She was born to Alton and Annie Hawkins and raised on the farm with her two sisters in the Assiniboia district. She married Edward Fitzpatrick on May 8, 1950. Mom was an active businesswoman her entire life, most notably running Ed’s Chicken Inn at Christopher Lake with her son Lloyd for 23 years. Mom was very interested in people and she loved seeing familiar faces who made it a summer tradition to stop at the restaurant each year. She was always thinking of others and she was devoted to her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fitzpatrick; her parents, Alton and Annie Hawkins; and her son-in-law, Gordon Aitken. She is survived by her sisters, Edna McCarty and Phyllis Forsythe; her sister-in-law, Margaret Fitzpatrick; children, Lloyd (Cheryl) Fitzpatrick and Joyce Aitken; 3 grandchildren, Tracey (Brad) Owen, Crystal (Jason) Schellenberg, and Cory (Marni) Forrest; great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mont. St. Joseph Care Home for the wonderful care Mom has received as a resident for the past 16 years. Funeral Service will be held on October 6, 2018 at 1:30pm at Mont St. Joseph Home, 777 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Ken Lyons officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name may be made to the Mont St. Joseph Foundation, 777 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 8C2.
