Peacefully at the Souris Hospital on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 of Basil Francis MacDonald; aged 87 years of Souris, PE. Survived by his special nieces and nephews Eleanor O’Brien (Wilfred), Fr. Doug MacDonald, Shelley Clow (Donnie), Darren MacDonald (Julia Briggs), niece-in-law Judy MacDonald, nephews-in-law Eric O’Brien and Eric Robertson. He will be deeply missed by his grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Clara MacDonald, brothers Damien and George MacDonald, sister Ada MacDonald, sisters-in-law Ethel MacDonald, Sheila MacDonald, and Marie Hooper, nephew Kevin MacDonald, nieces Claire Robertson, and Donna O’Brien. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home with visiting hours on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., and Friday, October 12, 2018 from 9:30 a.m.-10:15 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. There will be a Legion Service at the funeral home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. Donations in memory of Basil can be made to the Souris Legion, or the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund.
