The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, November 1, 2018, of James “Jim” Cheverie, of Summerside, aged 83 years. Born in Pictou, NS, he was the son of the late James and Emma (Stewart) Cheverie. Survived by his children Marie (Kevin) Roop, Jim Cheverie, Kathy Gallant (Ron Skrastins), Robert (Banlu) Cheverie; daughters-in-law Barb Gallant (Blair Bowness) and Monica Dawson; son-in-law Paul Gallant; grandchildren Adam (Jenn) Cheverie, Jamie Gallant (Amanda Potts), Ryan Gallant, Nathan Roop (Lindsay Gates), Aaron Roop, Michael Gallant (Nicki Curry), Nancy Cheverie (Annie MacGillivary), Samantha Cheverie (Troy Merrick) and Brian Cheverie; great-grandchildren Brandon, Logan, Naomi, Khloe and Quenton. Predeceased by his wife Maxine (Dewhirst) Cheverie and by a son David Cheverie. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside.
