JOUDREY, Lois Elizabeth (née Cochrane) – Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 25 in Brantford, Ontario at the age of 93. Lois is survived by her children, Roslynne Gower (Les) and Dana (Laura), and her sister, Joan Young. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross, her parents, St. Clair and Blanche, her brothers, Paul (Barbara) and Jack (June), and her sisters, Agnes Jackson (Gordon), Caroline Newberry (Fred) and bother in law John Young. Dear to her heart were her grandchildren, Evan (Natalie), Lindsay (Grant), Ross, Tristan (Haley), Lynden (Stephanie), Natalie (Brandon) and Allison (John), as well as her six great-grandchildren Corbin, Breena, Quinn, Cordelia, Alasdair and Theodore. Lois was born on December 16, 1924 in St. Croix, Nova Scotia. She married Ross, a decorated WW2 veteran, in 1947. After moving to St. Catharines, Lois began working for Linhaven Nursing Home as the Director of Nursing. Her children remember her as a hard working, compassionate mother who encouraged them to be happy and to pursue their goals. She was a veteran that served in the CAF. After the war she trained to be a registered nurse. As an extremely dedicated nurse, she was obsessed with maintaining the highest standards of personal care for her patients. She will be missed by her many friends and fellow parishioners at Brockview Chapel where she has been an active and dedicated member for the last 53 years. A Memorial Service was scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Brockview Bible Chapel, 326 Pelham Road, St. Catharines, with a reception to follow, organized by the ladies of the church. Robert Cretney was the officiate of the ceremony with a message given by Brian Gunning. All were welcome to attend to celebrate Lois’ life.
