It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Faulkner of Sackville, NB on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Lower Economy, NS on June 28, 1932, he was the son of the late Roland and Gladys (McCosh) Faulkner and he was the husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Gilbert) Faulkner. Gordie grew up in Lower Economy and Bass River, NS and worked for a number of years at Enterprise Foundry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, four wheeling and tinkering in his garage. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and being at his cottage at Walton's Beach. Gordie will be sadly missed and is survived by his daughter, Mary-Jo (David) Marsden and their children, Nicholas and Sarah; his sons, Jim (Kelly) Faulkner and their children, Shawn (Beth), Craig (Sarah), Ryan (Claire), Morgan (Abdel); Lee (Andrea) Faulkner and their children, Laura and Eric; his four great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Laura Gilbert of Ajax, Ontario and Vera Faulkner of Amherst, NS., as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ron Faulkner; his brothers-in-law, Everett Gilbert and Melvin Gilbert, as well as by his sister-in-law, Jan Gilbert. A heartfelt thank you to Laura and Travis Thurston who were always there for Gordie and will truly miss him. Thank you to Dr. Milne and staff, and the staff at the Sackville Memorial Hospital and the Moncton Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request of the family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gordie may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or to the charity of one’s choice.
