It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a loving husband, father, brother and brother-in-law, Anthony (Tony) Raymond Rendell, on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Victoria County Hospital in Baddeck, at the age of 65.
Born in Florence on November 11, 1952, he was the son of the late Mark and Katie (Blackie) Rendell.
Tony was a hard worker, working for many years with concrete at Pioneer Ready Mix and Brennan Concrete. Up until his passing, he worked for the CBVR Center for Education. Although he had jobs, he was also an avid carpenter, building houses and doing renovations. He was a handyman who could put his hand to anything, whether it was to fix a car or tinkering around.
Tony leaves behind to mourn the love of his life his wife, Lorraine (Jessome) and Daddy’s “cutie” and precious gift, Ashley. He is also survived and was always there for his brothers and sisters, Jakie (Mary), Gerry, his best bud Markie, Betty and Daryl (Debbie). Tony will also be missed by the Jessome family, Ken (Kathy), Jocelyn (Clifford MacDonald), Jody (Jeanne), Darrell (Bonnie), Timmy (Heather), David (Raylene) and who was more than brother-in-law to Jackie and Mark (Haley). He will also be loved and missed by all his nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Tony will be missed by his co-workers at the bus garage in Baddeck, and his best friend, Michael O’Toole.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Kitty, Jarvis and Marlene; brother-in- law, Robbie Bennett and mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Adrian Jessome.
Tony has left us, but will always be loved and in our hearts forever.
Cremation has taken place. Tony’s family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines, with a memorial service at 9 p.m. in the funeral home, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating.
