It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of devoted husband, father, brother and friend Thomas Heidt of Okanagan Falls BC (formerly of Prince Albert SK).
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Jan and his children, Ray (Nargiza), Janice (Brad) Heidt-Dubray, Christine, Karen (Dave) Neider, Tannis Seufert (Greg Patterson) and Ginger Seufert (Louis Lemieux). Tom will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Connie (Lindsay Thorimbert), Ryan, Gabriel, Joshua (mother Olga), Mia, Sola, Katia and Liz, his brothers Jack (Golda), Don (Sylvia), Bob (Gail), his sister Betty (Jack) Rae, mother-in-law Anne Skoronski-Cantin, sisters-in-law Peggy (Bill) Paull and Karen Skoronski, and extended family. Tom was predeceased by his parents Jack and Jessie Heidt and his first wife Kathleen (nee Ryan). Tom was born October 27, 1938 in Kerrobert SK and passed away peacefully November 10, 2018 in Penticton BC. He was a kind easygoing man who befriended people from all walks of life without prejudice. Tom wholeheartedly believed that strangers were just friends he hadn’t yet met. He enjoyed a full life surrounded by family and friends, golfing, traveling and appreciating his good fortune.
He will be remembered as a dedicated principal and influential assistant director of education in Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan who challenged norms and embraced change. After retiring, he pursued his journey as a strategic planning consultant and kept inspiring others with his passion and gentle nature. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his faith in humanity and eternal optimism.
