It is with great sadness we, his family, announce his passing on November 29, 2018, at the age of 68. Basil will be remembered as a hard worker, his willingness always to help others and for his sense of humor. A fine man, loved by so many, and committed to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Rose (English) Puddicombe, brothers Leo and Charlie. Left to mourn his wife and best friend, Regina (Hoskins); son Rodney (Zena) their children, Meka and Avery; son Stephen (Heather) and their children: Colby, Spencer, Jake and Sam; mother of his children Maureen, step-sons Todd Haggett (April) and Ryan Haggett; brothers and sisters Frances (George Hatfield, deceased), Tommy (Roxanne), Danny (Marilyn), Rose (Ian Pittman), Sadie (Keith Young), Mary and sisters-in-law Marie and Debbie Puddicombe. Also, nieces and nephews, in-laws, the Hoskins family, his many friends that were there for him during his illness; especially Bernie Short, Ed Short, Pat Short, Ben King, Tony Burke, and his Florida friends. A special thanks his family Dr.’s, Dr. Nicole Stockley and Dr. Erica Chafe; public health nurse Bev, Melissa and Jennifer, to all the doctors and staff at the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and Palliative Care Unit at L.A. Miller Centre. Resting at Hickey's Funeral Home in Kelligrews. Visitation on Saturday 7- 9 pm; Sunday 2 - 4 pm and Sunday 7- 9 pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service at Hickey's funeral home in Kelligrews, NL on Monday, Dec 3rd at 10: am - Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
