George Robert Sellers, age 69 of Pictou, passed away November 29, 2018. Born in Pictou, he was the son of the late Johnson and Fern (Walker) Sellers. George loved spending time with his family, tackling new projects, and travelling. Evenings spent with good food and games were his preference, but other nights he'd use to turn projects over in his mind, finding clever solutions before the morning. He took great joy in researching and planning for trips, especially when they would bring him and Donna closer to their children and grandchildren around the world. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Gerald MacKenzie Council 8608, and a long time member of the Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his sister, Janice (George “Ted” Turner),Toronto; his six children, Joel (Jill Butler), Caribou River; Shannon (Rod Gillis), Halifax; Kirsten (Greg Kelford), Ottawa; Aaron (Lindsay Laltoo), Moncton; Liam, Monbetsu; and Zachary (Jessica Wypper), Halifax; grandchildren, Benjamin, Iain, Laura Sellers and their mother, Jane Miller; Hayley and Abby Muise; Olivia and Sadie Kelford; and Jessie Gillis. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will take place 11 AM Tuesday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou.
