Gordon Silver

Gordon Alexander Silver, 88 of Dartmouth formerly of Mount William passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in The Admiral Long Term Care Centre, Dartmouth.

Born in Mount William, on November 24,1930, he was a son of the late William B. and Margaret J. (Watters)Silver.

Gordon was a plasterer by trade and later a civil draftsman with the Nova Scotia Department of Highways. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid gardener. He loved spending time in the woods and feeding every bird, squirrel, and stray cat that crossed his path. He enjoyed playing and watching hockey and earned multiple belt levels in Karate. Gordon was well known by all for his dry wit and wry sense of humor...

He will be dearly missed by his wife Margaret (Langille), daughter Brenda Preeper, Eastern Passage, son Robert (Audrey), Eastern Passage; grandchildren: Jason Silver (Aimee), Halifax, Kelly, Paris, France, Brian, Halifax, Scott, St.Jean, Quebec, and great grandsons, Elliott and Felix Silver. He is survived by one brother, Allister, Salt Springs and two sisters: Sue Ince (Doug), Stellarton and Joan Ferguson (Alonzo), Mount William, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gordon was predeceased by brothers, William, Leslie, David and Kenneth, and sisters, Catherine MacKenzie, Ernestine Cordingley and Charlotte Tambellini.

Gordon is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Friday, Dec.7th from 10-11 am followed by his funeral service at 11 o’clock, the Rev. Greg Dickson officiating. Burial will take place at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Hwy 6, Sylvester. Reception to follow at St Andrews Church Hall, Westville.
