THOMAS EDWARD FILLMORE

1928-2018

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Edward Fillmore, 90, of Sackville, with his loving family by his side, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 30, 2018.
Tom was born in Fairfield, N.B., September 28, 1928, a son of the late Edward and Nellie (Mitton) Fillmore. Tom started his working life at the Fawcett Foundry and finally settled at Mount Allison University. During this time, he worked towards obtaining his Plumbing Certificate through NBCC, as a mature student. He continued as Mt. A's plumber for over 25 years. Tom loved the farm and gardening as long as his health allowed. He loved working with wood, be it making cabinets and blanket boxes to chunking up eight-foot lengths for firewood. He loved animals, enabling his daughter's love of horses, however, he didn't want to be on one. In his retirement he loved working on his blueberry fields. He will be sadly missed by his cat, Boots; his daughters, Donna (Chris Chambers) Fillmore, Fairfield, and Valerie (Wade Gallant) Fillmore, Ontario; a son, Kevin (Laura) Fillmore, Alberta; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Danielle), Jordan (Britton), Hailee, Nathan, Jesse, Alex, and Mary; three great grandchildren, Olivia, Sophie, and Destiny. He will also be missed by his special friend, Angie Sears, Sackville; a sister, Florence Estabrooks, Sackville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, William Turner; a brother, Arnold, his sisters, Jean, Dorothy and Margaret, and his special friend, Arlene Olive. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300). Honoring Tom's wishes, there is to be no visitation or services at this time. Donations in memory of Tom may be made to CARMA. Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Tom's online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
