BOUDREAU, Geraldine Marie – age 89, Lower Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co. It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our mother. She fought her illness with great strength and courage. She passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 14, 1929 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Eloi and Monique Adèle (Pothier) LeBlanc. Geraldine was a homemaker and she loved to spend time with her family and friends on Turpentine Island. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards and watching baseball games, especially the Blue Jays. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be lovingly remembered by her entire family. She is survived by her children, Adrian (Paula) Boudreau, Zelma (Junior) Jacquard, Gordon (Lillie) Boudreau and Paulette (Adrian) Cottreau, all of Wedgeport, as well as by her grandchildren Luc, Amy, Angelle, Josée, Joline, Jacob, Joel and great-grandchildren, Jesse, Joshua and Hudson. Also surviving are siblings, Larry LeBlanc, Yarmouth; Blanche Doucet, Lower West Pubnico and Ernest LeBlanc, Lower Wedgeport. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael T. Boudreau, as well as by siblings, Frances, Billy, Stanley, Zelma and Andrew. Visitation took place on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. at the H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Wedgeport. The funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. from Saint Michael’s Church, Wedgeport, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Geraldine may be made to the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund.
