Charles Maurice MacKay
Born: August 24th, 1934
Charles Maurice MacKay of Calgary, formerly of Guelph, passed away in Calgary on Dec. 9, 2018 at the age of 84.
Charles was born Aug. 24, 1934 in Dominion, NS. He was artistic, loved to dance, and tell stories of his youth and his time in the army.
He will be sadly missed by friend, Elaine Ford; children, Sue, Ava (Gary) LeBlanc, Tom (Kathy), Mike (Rebecca), Scott (Rita), Renata (Blair) McConnell, Cory (Lisa); 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Peggy); sister, Ruby Surridge; nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Helga (Gorzel) MacKay, mother of his children; daughter, Nancy (Jim) Hadfield; grandson, Brandon McConnell; parents, Gilbert and Jessica (Reid); sisters, Lois (Meff) Ridi, Vivian (Romo) Reide, Corrine, Susie (Garrett) Bruckschwaiger, and brother, Francis (Rita).
At Charles’ request, his ashes will be scattered in Calgary, Guelph, and Dominion. A memorial service will be held in Guelph, ON in Spring, 2019.
