It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Genevieve (Gennie) Mary Dalton of Cape Broyle at Agnes Pratt Home. Predeceased by her loving husband Ronald in 2003, granddaughter Susan in 1977; parents John and Nora Ward, stepmother Kate Ward, and her special aunt Kitty Leahy who raised her from childhood after her mother's passing; her siblings Theresa, Vera, Cecil, Aiden, Victor, Leo and John Ward; parents-in-law Richard and Molly Dalton, brothers and sisters-in-law - John, Richard, Bill, Pat, Pauline, Gert and Anne. Leaving to mourn her children Anne Marie (Ambrose) O'Brien, Mary (Brian) Gardner, Frank (Florence), Nora (Joe) Aylward, Richie, Fred (Kaye), Gerald (Angela), Alice (Tom) Brinston, Patsy (Wayne) Winter, Barbara (Kerry) St. Croix, Cecil (Tammy). 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, brothers Russell and Phonse Ward, brother-in-law Frank Walsh, sisters-in-law Theresa Chafe and Rose Sittler. Thanks to caregivers Betty Hawkins and Philomena Aylward for helping look after our mom. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Agnes Pratt Home, Stella Burry and Southview units for the care and kindness shown to mom during her two years there; it has been deeply appreciated. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 2 to 9 PM, Sunday, Dec. 23 from 4 to 9 PM, and Monday, Dec. 24 from 10 to 12 PM. Mass of Christial Burial to take place at the Immaculate Conception RC Church, Cape Broyle at 1 PM on Monday, Dec. 24/18. Interment to follow at our Lady of the Cape RC Cemetery. Flowers greatly accepted or donations can be made to the R.C. Church, Cape Broyle, Agnes Pratt Home or Alzheimers Association.
