Donald Angus MacKinnon, age 88, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Angus is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (MacDonald) MacKinnon; his children, John B. (Sonia), Coxheath, Helen (Harry Kelley), Hammonds Plains, Donald (Tammy), Sydney River, Cyril (Susie), Sydney River; grandchildren, John David, Colin (Lindsey Muir), Melissa, Ryan (Corinne Crowdis), Megan (Lyle Connors), Shannon, Sarah, Noah, Sam and Luke; great-grandchildren, Ella and Kelson; his brother, John; sister, Mary Sarah (Gerald Long), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Sarah Ann (MacArthur) MacKinnon of Grand Mira and John R. MacKinnon of East Bay; his sisters, Mary Catherine, Anne Mary, and brother, Roderick.
Angus had a career in sales spanning over 50 years, working at Progressive Wholesale, Clarke Foods, Windsor Salt, Morse’sTea and finally R&A paper. Angus was a proud member of the Mira Fiddlers and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with them. He was a man of faith, deeply involved in St. Margaret’s Parish, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Angus’s true passion was time spent in Mira with family and friends at Victoria Bridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Margaret’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27 from 6 – 9 p.m., at the SW Chant & Son Funeral home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral Mass is Friday, December 28, 11 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Parish, Grand Mira.
