Wayne began drumming as a child, tapping on anything he could use to carry a beat and he pursued his passion for music throughout his life. His Mom drove him to his first gigs when he was too young to drive, and she secretly bought his first set of drums. A percussionist, composer, band mate and studio musician, Wayne was true to his calling, playing in bands too numerous to mention including his work with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra with his dear friend and mentor, the late Don Wherry. Wayne lived in Halifax for many years working as an independent sales representative for many companies in the music industry and returned to St. John’s in 2006. After his return to Newfoundland he became involved with the Sound Symposium in many roles including production manager. Right up to his last day, Wayne was composing and recording music in his studio, Studio 8. Wayne was also an avid gardener, both he and Ellie enjoyed working in their beautiful gardens in both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He will be resting at Caul’s Funeral home, LeMarchant Road. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 and Monday, January 7th, 2019 from 2 – 4 p.m and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 from Caul’s Chapel at 11 a.m. Please check http://www.cauls.ca.
