Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Patrick Joseph O’Brien, age 71 years. Predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Ellen O’Brien (nee Butler); sisters, Mary Martin (nee O’Brien) and Sadie Monahan (nee O’Brien); brothers, Vincent, Jimmy, Pius and Paul; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Madeline Squires and his sister-in-law, Eileen Ottawa (nee Squires). Leaving to mourn with very heavy hearts; his soulmate and loving wife of 48 years, Rita O’Brien (nee Squires); his children, Patricia (Dale Wall), Norman (Nancy Flight), Christine (Keith) Ryan and Corina (Morley) Gillingham; his pride and joy: 5 grandchildren, Mackenzie O’Brien, Connor and Logan Wall and Katherine and Mitchell Ryan whom he loved with all his heart; he will be dearly missed by them all. Patrick also leaves to mourn, his sister, Bride (Jim) Evans; brother, Tom (Dianne) O’Brien and brother-in-law, David Martin as well as extended members of the O’Brien, Butler and Squires families. Special thanks to Dr. Mary O’Brien and all the nurses at the ICU and CCU of the Health Sciences Centre; you will always be in our hearts. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Monday from 2-9pm and Tuesday from 10am-12pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from Holy Trinity Church with interment to follow at the Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Patrick’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Newfoundland Labrador.
