It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Grace in her home on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Grace was the only living survivor of the Washburn family. She is predeceased by her husband, Allan Cook; parents, Alexander and Catherine Washburn (Dolan); her in-laws, Jack and Edith Cook (Hull); her siblings, Jim, Isabelle, Macrena, Dennis, Johnny, Lillian, Marie, Rita and Bob; son-in-law, David Walsh, sister-in-law Laura (Archie) Evans. Leaving to mourn her children: Gwen Walsh, Bob Cook (Hilary), Cathy Turpin (Glenn); her cherished grandchildren: Chris Walsh, Lauri Reid (Josh), Katherine Cook (Troy), Dawn Cook; sisters-in-law: Monica, Betty, Gladys all of New Brunswick; niece, Ellen Evan (Freeman) of Crambrook, BC; A special thanks to her homecare worker Denise Kennedy who has gone above and beyond for everything she has done for Grace. A special thanks to her neighbours, Louise, Gary and Francis, Joan Sparrow. A special friend Jackie Rouleau. A special thanks to the family medicine unit at the Health Sciences Centre, especially Dr. Heather Flynn who have gone above and beyond for our family. Grace dearly loved to spend many afternoons playing Bridge with her ladies. Grace will be dearly missed by a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday January 10th. Cremation to follow. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January, 11th, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Rd. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
