Julia Georgina Boudreau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julia Georgina Boudreau, 85, of New Waterford on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the youngest daughter of the late Francis and Christine (Roach) Poirier. Julia is survived by her children; Sheila (Tim) Bradich, Kitchener, Ontario, Jeannette (Kevin) Kennedy, New Waterford, Bernie Boudreau, Halifax, Tina (Bruce) Pasher, Halifax, and Wayne Boudreau, Halifax. She is survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Kathleen Kennedy, John Kennedy, Kenneth Pasher, Mark Pasher, Holly Bradich, Julie Radojcic and Luka Radojcic. Julia is also survived by her sisters, Hilda MacKinnon, Alice (Joseph) Muise, and sister-in-law, Yvonne Poirier. Julia also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Boudreau; sisters, Effie MacEachern, Anna Burke and Janet Kyle; brothers, Edward, Edgar, Wilfred and Ernest; step-sisters, Lucie Pottie, Catherine Gallant, Elizabeth Poirier, Mary-Jane MacIntyre and step-brother, William Poirier.
Respecting Julia’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall on Convent Street. Memorial donations in memory of Julia can be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff of the 2nd floor New Waterford Hospital. Your kindness to Julia and her family will not be forgotten.
