Violet Benson passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 94 years. Predeceased by her husband William Thomas Benson; parents Uriah and Annie Churchill; brothers Kenneth, Arthur, Douglas and Malcolm; sister Ethel. Left with fond and loving memories her children Austin (Evelyn), Lorne (Diane), Inez Durant (Russ), Eldon (Cynthia) and Calvin; her grandchildren Natalie Benson Goodyear (Dion), Stephanie Freire (Humberto), Pamela Balsom (Mark), Paula Drover (Rocky), Paul Benson (Mila), Kimberley Kieley (Roddie), Peter Durant (Pilar Iglesias), Jill Tucker (Sheldon), Nancy Harkness (Stuart), Foster and Jordan Benson; great-grandchildren Tom Goodyear, Ana and Charlotte Freire, Alexandria, Ashley and Avery Balsom, Chase Drover, Keegan and Khloe Benson, Benson and Olivia Kieley, Lola and Zara Durant, Emma and Evan Tucker, Braden and Jacob Harkness; sisters-in-law Leila and Meta Churchill, as well as a large number of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and at the Anglican Church, Hillview on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 11 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Hillview with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Hillview.
